Homeowner Success Program

The Homeowner Success Program is offering four classes in March 2026 for homeowners who have utilized Portland Housing Center resources to purchase their home!

These classes are free, 90-minute virtual sessions led by our partners in the Portland metro area who are dedicated to making homeownership more easy, rewarding, and successful for all. The classes being offered this March are:

Weatherization & Energy Efficiency with Community Energy Project

Thursday, March 5th from 6:00-7:30pm (Zoom)

Our partners at Community Energy Project will give you the knowledge and skills needed to get your home ready for the warmer months, save money through energy efficiency and water conservation, and ensure you have a healthy home as you head into summer. Participants who join can also sign up to receive a weatherization kit for their home free of cost!

Anatomy of a Home & Home Repair with ReBuilding Center

Thursday, March 12th from 6:00-7:30pm (Zoom)

Educators from the ReBuilding Center will share foundational knowledge to help new homeowners understand the structure of their home, cover important systems like plumbing and electric, and provide basic information on home repair.

Tax Issues for New Homeowners with Stewart Hansen, CPA, MT 

Thursday, March 19th from 6:00-7:30pm (Zoom)

CPA Stewart Hansen will offer new homeowners a practical overview of how owning a home can impact your taxes, including common deductions, credits, and filing considerations. This overview includes any state-level differences you may encounter, helping you feel more confident and prepared at tax time without needing prior tax expertise.

Estate Planning with The Commons Law Center

Thursday, March 26th from 6:00-7:30pm (Zoom)

This workshop with The Commons Law Center, a Portland based non-profit law firm, will give you the knowledge and skills needed to confidently create an estate plan, and help you preserve and protect your assets.
