We make it possible through quality home buyer education, one-on-one guidance, financial services, and a variety of other resources to make homeownership a reality for Portland-area residents.
We’ve helped more than 10,000 families become successful, financially secure homeowners. We prepare you for the challenges, and guide you throughout the home-buying process. We offer mortgages with fixed interest rates, low down payments, and assistance with down payment and closing costs.

Portland Housing Center is your trusted resource no matter where you are at in the homebuying process. When you register we’ll help you determine what services you need to become a successful homebuyer and connect you with one on one counseling, financial management and homebuyer classes, and financial products that can help you become successful. We make it easy by recommending your first step and giving you access to schedule your first service online immediately after you register.
We also offer first mortgages with low down payments, down payment and closing cost assistance, and access to savings matching programs.
Portland Housing Center also provides a variety of in-house services and resources, and helps our customers assemble a team of seasoned, engaged professional partners, including home inspectors and Realtors™.
Portland Housing Center is a nonprofit organization founded in 1991 with support from the City of Portland, some local banks, and concerned citizens.
We were founded to ensure all Portland residents had equal access to information and resources to achieve homeownership. We specialize in providing each of our home buyers with education, counseling, financial resources, and other home-buying support.
